GO COWBOYS takes as its starting point Bruce Nauman's quote, demanding that "Art should be like getting hit in the face with a baseball bat." Due to its implicated cynicism regarding executions, the title for the book "GO COWBOYS" was inspired by the final statement of Jesse Joe Hernandez, who received lethal injection by the State of Texas on March 28, 2012 in Huntsville.
