Peter Hibbard MBE is a Shanghai-based British writer. His research, focusing on Shanghai's urban development and the history of travel and tourism in China, began over 25 years ago. He is the author of numerous publications, including The Bund Shanghai: China Faces West, and is President of the Royal Asiatic Society China in Shanghai. Paul Mooney, an American freelance journalist, has 31 years of experience studying and working in Asia. Paul moved to Beijing in 1994, beginning a 16-year stint of reporting from around the country for leading publications, such as Newsweek, Asiaweek, The Far Eastern Economic Review and the South China Morning Post. He lives in Beijing.
