Klappentext zu „Human Rights in International Law: Selected Issues “
This book addresses some of the core issues of international human rights law. It traces the evolution of human rights in international law and examines the position of extraterritorial jurisdiction under major international human rights instruments. In this connection, it underscores the jurisprudential contributions of International Court of Justice and the European Court of Human Rights. After setting the general scenario, it takes up the specific themes. Firstly, it examines the international framework of business and human rights and analyses the position with reference to the leading international instruments, such as, International Bill of Rights, UN Global Compact, OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises and UN Norms on the Responsibilities of Transnational Corporations. This is followed by the analysis of the human rights implication of intellectual property rights. In specific terms, it addresses the impact of intellectual property rights on the right to culture and science.
