No plant on earth is without any application. From the time immemorial, plants have been used as a source of drugs for the benefit of mankind. In the recent years, discoveries are being made to find out alternative therapeutic use of the natural product or newer sources are being searched in light of the fact that the existing sources are not sufficient and synthetic drugs have proved inefficient in terms of side effects and price. E. foliata is a potential therapeutic gymnospermous species. It has been noticed that female plant of this particular species is highly potent therapeutically. Despite being most of the previous literature survey was pertaining to the micro-propagation and secondary metabolite of the female plant only and male Ephedra foliata has not been studied so far.
