Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is a common disease that can substantially impair patient's quality of life and increases the risk of premature death. COPD constitutes a major global health burden based on its high prevalence, exorbitant health-care costs, and significant mortality. An increasingly aging population, combined with factors such as tobacco smoking and long-term exposure to air pollution, has led to a rise in the incidence of COPD disease, with a total of 210 million people worldwide suffering from this disease. Respiratory failure results from disturbances of gas exchange and may led to nocturnal COPD symptoms and may affect their sleep. In a survey patients found nocturnal cough and wheezing resulted in 53% of the patients reporting difficulty initiating or maintaining sleep, and 23% reporting excessive daytime sleepiness. So the purpose of present study is to conclude the positive effects of IMT as a given therapy on hypercapnic stable COPD patients with OSA and provide them a better approach of rehabilitation.
