The book describes the main aspects of kinetoprophylaxis. There is a differentiation depending on the age and gender of the patient. Primary kinetoprophylaxy is applied to healthy humans to prevent the onset of disease. The secondary one is used in pathological situations, being especially useful for the elderly. The tertiary one is addressed to people suffering from chronic diseases, to prevent their aggravation. For example, tertiary kinetoprophylaxy can be applied in the case of fracture complications. Aerobic exercises are generally used. The program is adapted to the individual endurance level. The emphasis is on reflex posture, prevention of lordosis and kyphosis. Another objective is to avoid deconditioning. Exercise can also prevent metabolic disorders. The specialist in physical therapy should also take into account the adverse effects of some drugs.
