Zum Inhalt: The LONWORKS Installation Handbook provides a practical introduction to decentralized LONWORKS(r) automation networks and describes in detail its implementation in the most varied systems found in building automation, with particular reference to electrical installation. The book begins with an introduction to bus technology and to crosssystem building automation. Following this, the LONWORKS environment is presented covering information on the technology provider and interest groups dealing with the technology, through to details on hardware and software, protocols, nodes, communication principles and topology ... and all this directly related to practice. The different transmission media are explained along with the relevant lay-out guidelines and addressing method. A whole chapter is dedicated to installation guidelines, others deal with integration using customary tools, including advice on choosing a tool and assessments of their usefulness. In the appendices, numerous Standard Network Variable Types (SNVTs) are defined, and the topics troubleshooting and LONWORKS and Internet communication together with scenarios from lighting technology, sun protection, single room control, fault diagnosis and project execution and management for distributed estates are comprehensively described.
