Zum Inhalt:
The LONWORKS Installation Handbook provides a practical introduction to decentralized LONWORKS(r) automation networks and describes in detail its implementation in the most varied systems found in building automation, with particular reference to electrical installation. The book begins with an introduction to bus technology and to crosssystem building automation. Following this, the LONWORKS environment is presented covering information on the technology provider and interest groups dealing with the technology, through to details on hardware and software, protocols, nodes, communication principles and topology ... and all this directly related to practice. The different transmission media are explained along with the relevant lay-out guidelines and addressing method. A whole chapter is dedicated to installation guidelines, others deal with integration using customary tools, including advice on choosing a tool and assessments of their usefulness. In the appendices, numerous Standard Network Variable Types (SNVTs) are defined, and the topics troubleshooting and LONWORKS and Internet communication together with scenarios from lighting technology, sun protection, single room control, fault diagnosis and project execution and management for distributed estates are comprehensively described. The book contains an extensive index as well as a list of contact addresses and webpages for further information.
About the Author:
The LON Nutzer Organisation e.V. (LNO) is the association of manufacturers, system integrators and end-users who all work with LONWORKS technology, primarily in the German-speaking world. The Task Groups Auditing, Training, Planning and Integration, Refrigeration and Air-conditioning, Technology and Tools, Industry and Home and Building Automation develop concepts and strategies for market penetration. With the magazine LNO Brief, an internet presence with an information database, with congresses, joint stands at the light + building, Hannover Fair and IKK, with the publishing of books and active public relations, the LNO prepares the market for LONWORKS and acts as a hub of information. - The Bundestechnologiezentrum für Elektro- und Informationstechnik e. V. (bfe-Oldenburg) actively promotes training in trade and industry with a wide range of offers for electrical engineering and information technology. The bfe- Oldenburg campaigns in particular for wellfounded, practice-oriented training in LONWORKS technology. As an LNO certified training center it regularly holds seminars on LONWORKS technology. Ralph Saßmannshausen is head of automation technology and is thereby responsible, amongst other things, for the process and building automation at bfe-Oldenburg.
Target Group:
The book is aimed at electrical engineers, installers, construction engineers and all those who plan, install, integrate or maintain building automation systems based on LONWORKS. Even developers and system integrators can benefit from the practical troubleshooting at the installation and implementation phases.
