Lorenzo Silva gehört zur »jungen Garde« der spanischen (Krimi-)Autoren. Silva wurde 1966 geboren und hat sich seit seiner Geburt nie weit von der Hauptstadt Madrid entfernt. Nach seinem Jura-Studium arbeitet er als Rechtsanwalt, widmete sich aber schon sehr früh (1980) der Literatur.Der Autor wurde mit Preisen ausgezeichnet. 2012 erhielt er den Planeta, nach dem Nobelpreis für Literatur der weltweit zweithöchstdotierte Literaturpreis.
