Maritime safety is one of the chief concerns of this convention. Today Classification Society (CS) play a very important role in ensuring maritime safety. The purpose of present research is to analyse the role of CS in terms of better implementation of Flag State (FS) responsibility related obligations derived from various international instruments. While doing so, this research will analyse the experience of Georgia as a Flag State.
