A new mathematical models for predicting the mechanical behavior of cold-drawn mild steel (CDS) AISI 1018 at elevated temperatures under steady- and transient-state conditions are proposed. The dynamic-strain-aging (DSA) phenomenon induced an increase in the mechanical strength of CDS AISI 1018 in the steady-state temperature range from 400-500 degree C. The behavior of linier-perfectly plastic of cold-drawn mild steel induced in the steel properties changes is very sensitive to increasing temperatures. The proposed models by transient-state method are more applicable to evaluate the fire response of CDS AISI 1018 structures.

Badaruddin, MohammadDr. Mohammad Badaruddin is a lecturer in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Universitas Lampung-Indonesia since 1998. He graduated studies with a Ph.D. from the National Taiwan University of Science and Technology (NTUST) in 2011. His current research interests are in the areas of aluminizing coating, high- and -low cycle fatigue.
