Japanese Contents Studies is emerging as a new transdisciplinary field in Japanese and East Asian Studies. Among the topics raised are the legal protection of intellectual property, the Korean Wave, prewar Chosun cinema, the Manchuria Film Association, romantic dramas between Japanese men and Chinese women, spatial structures in Japanese and Chinese films, trends in contemporary media art, literary models and cinematic and educational touristic marketing strategies, stereotypes of female characters in the Japanese literary discourse, and digitalization strategies of historical archives.
