RITA PHILLIPS MITCHELL was born in Belize but has lived in the UK since the 1960s. She is a retired primary head-teacher, who has also taught EFL. Her other picture books include One for You, One for Me (Walker) and The Gotcha Smile (Orchard). She lives in Essex. CAROLINE BINCH is the internationally acclaimed illustrator of Amazing Grace (9781845077495) and Grace and Family (9781845078065), with Mary Hoffman, as well as Down by the River (9781847800824) with Grace Hallworth. She wrote and illustrated the picture books Gregory Cool (9780711208902), Since Dad Left (9780711213555), Newborn, Silver Shoes (9781845074715) and Cristy's Dream (9781845074722), as well as the novel for young readers, Road Horse, about a Traveller family. She lives in Cornwall.
