David Thompson, ein weithin anerkannter Experte der Thai-Küche, gehört zu den bedeutendsten australischen Köchen, Gastronomen und Kochbuchautoren. Er ist außerdem ein beredter Botschafter der Thai-Kultur. Seine Restaurants in Sydney haben viel für die Verbreitung und wachsende Wertschätzung der authentischen Thai-Küche getan. Derzeit fungiert David Thompson als Berater des angesehenen Suan Dusit College in Bangkok zum Thema Bewahrung von Thailands kulinarischem Erbe.
