Albania in the last decade has undergone radical changes in legal, social, political and cultural life. These changes have had a strong influence on the legal system reforms. Several years have passed since the "Legal Treaties Council of Europe Convention on the Protection of National Minorities and the Albanian legislation" was held in Tirana, a seminar organized by the Council of Europe in cooperation with the relevant Albanian authorities. During these years of profound and tangible changes occurred in Albania in connection with minorities. However, it is worth mentioning that there are three officially recognized minorities in Albania: National minorities: Greeks, Macedonians and Montenegrins. Roma and Vlachs / Aromanians are recognized as linguistic minorities (sometimes called cultural). Egyptians and Bosniacs are not recognized as a minority language even though they would like to be recognized as such status.
