Nowdays, It has been the goal of the radiation oncologist to restrict the irradiated volume to the site and shape of the target volume. The Radiation therapy with ions has become an interesting and evolving complement to photon therapy. The reason is that charged particles and photons interact with the tissue in a different way, which leads to a completely different depth dose profile. Development of treatment procedure by heavy ions needs more experimental work for benchmarking its approach. There is not experimental data for different energies and organs to benchmark with treatment planning. So simulation tools can help the therapists to design a good treatment planning strategies. This book concerns more on heavy ions fragmentation and distribution of their activity on benchmarking available experimental data with simulation approach by FLUKA.
