Amitai Etzioni is University Professor at the George Washington University and director of the Institute for Communitarian Policy Studies. Among his many books are From Empire to Community, The Limits of Privacy, and The Moral Dimension. He is the recipient of many awards, including the John P. McGovern Award in Behavioral Sciences, and was named among the top 100 American intellectuals in Richard Posner's book Public Intellectuals.
