Northumberland is home to the loneliest stretches of moorland and coast in the country. It has much to offer the nature lover, walking enthusiast, history buff, gastronome and gardener: incredible wildlife, Georgian architecture, the Pennine Way, Alnwick Gardens and Alnwick Castle, featured in the Harry Potter films. Gemma Hall shares her love of Northumberland guiding visitors from historic towns and villages through outdoor swimming opportunities, to high altitude flower meadows and the wooded gorges of the Durham coast.

Rezension zu „Slow Northumberland & Durham: Including Newcastle, Hadrian's Wall and the Coast “
"... this is an enjoyable book to read, well-researched and a guidebook worth carrying while you explore Northumberland and Durham." Stuart Foster The Travel Editor 'Informed, engaging, reliable, this Bradt guide is one you can read with pleasure before, during and after your trip. Gemma Hall loves the place, and so she jolly well ought, having lived there for so many years. There seems barely a corner of those fine old counties, and Newcastle of course, that she has not walked. Visitors and residents alike will find it invaluable.' waterstones.com
