.Space itself has no form. Yet each of its affairs has one. These are as numerous as comprehensive. For everything that has to be done (à faire) and can actually be done has to be done in and with space and, thus, is always an affair of space. At the same time, everything that has to be done has to do with things. Affairs of space are all affairs with things. Affairs of space, provided the latter is one with things, are affairs with things. That space is a space with things cannot be taken for granted, however, for there is also space without any things at all. Space with things is space both around things and in things. As affairs of space are affairs with things, such a space always has an affair with itself, too. Yet it cannot embark on an affair with itself from the outset, which results from its nature being so different from that of everything else. Its problem with form is also grounded in it. The form of space becomes manifest in its affairs. And in this space of affairs you encounter: a coffin, a go-go girl; six cupboards, a ball, an open suitcase; all manner of clothes, bodies in-side; a rope, straps, circuits, moving loops; slits, a bottle s vibrations; a mouth that emits no sound; no rain, but an umbrella that produces sounds; an automobile full of bananas, many windows; an open book without a word, a few dots, a series of ones; an arrow, an aeroplane, some more or less stable towers; fog and other fabrics, various degrees of the transparent and non-transparent; glimpses, breaks, rows, folds and, in the thick of it all: the visitors, as participants in all of these affairs alternately appearing and disappearing in their midst.
