Investigation techniques were used to gather informations related to the lifestyle and apparently good health issued from both urban and rural populations. Some 26 tables, 28 figures and more than 250 references illustrate and summarize the scientific results achieved throughout a survey and biomarkers determination from blood. The worrying prevalence of metabolic syndrome showed a very close association with socio-demographic conditions, diet, alcohol consumption, tobacco intake and physical activity. This enables the reader to better understand why common killer as sudden death is invading lives and hitting our loved ones every day under our helpless gaze.

DANDJI SAAH, Marc BertrandDr. Dandji is a PhD holder in Biochemistry from the University of Dschang where he is the Head of Public Relation's Office. He graduated from the National Institute of Youth and Sports whereby he actually teaches nutrition of top athlets as associate lecturer. He also graduated from the Faculty of Sport Science of the Leipzig University in Germany
