Industrial and pharmaceutical waste discharge have generated severe unhygienic issues like water contamination, indoor and outdoor environmental pollution. Recently, photocatalytic oxidative degradation emerges as a most effective water purification process. In this book, nano-sized BiOCl, heterojunction Bi2O3/BiOCl and WO3/BiOCl were immobilized onto graphene sand composite and chitosan to report efficient supported photocatalytic system for wastewater treatment. The effective mineralization of antibiotics, oxytetracycline and ampicillin was explored for the antibiotic removal. The kinetics of antibiotics mineralization was discussed. The power law model was applied to explore the complex kinetics of long-term mineralization process. on the basis of characterization results and kinetics study, the most plausible mechanism for antibiotics mineralization was discussed. Finally, The recycling efficiency of photocatalysts was investigated to find its potential for real wastewater treatment.
