This book accentuates on the behaviour of various LC materials using multiple alignment methods i.e either by rubbing or by radiation of LPUVL or white light over a time of 10 minutes. All the studies were observed over a strictly controlled temperature scale in the nematic phase at 79°C The author in this book also investigated the effects of coating material and their concentrations on the tilt angle for the LC samples. This particular study involved PVA of varying concentrations, UV curing varnish as well as Nylon 6/6. Another section of this book covers the surface morphology of photo aligned samples. In this study, time duration of TRANS and CIS isomerization for different samples were measured. The studies in this book also search for the ideal time exposure for photo alignment either by LPUVL or by white light. These samples were also in dye doped substrate sample coated cells. Finally the finding of these experiments brought the author to the conclusion that photo inducedalignment was better than rubbing and further that dyed doped substrate coated sample cell technique was a good attempt to observe the photorefractivity.
