Farshid Delshad (geb. 1972) studierte Iranistik und Semitistik (MA, Iran), Kaukasiologie und Slawistik (PhD, Georgien, Russland), Auslandgermanistik und Deutsch als Fremd- und Zweitsprache (MA, Deutschland) und promovierte in Historisch-vergleichende Linguistik (Dr. phil. Deutschland) und unterrichtete als Orientwissenschaftler und Sprachdozent in Iran, Georgien, Russland, Deutschland, Frankreich und der Schweiz. Seine wissenschaftlichen Schwerpunkte umfassen kontrastive und historische Sprachwissenschaft und Minderheitenforschung in islamisch geprägten Ländern. Er arbeitet zurzeit in Deutschland und in den USA als assoziierter Forscher für Sprachen und Kulturen des Vorderen Orient und der islamischen Welt.
