Autoren-Porträt
Stephan Conermann (Prof. Dr.) ist Professor für Islamwissenschaft an der Rheinischen Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität zu Bonn. Zu seinen Forschungsschwerpunkten zählen Transformationsprozesse in islamischen Gesellschaften, narrative Strategien in vormodernen Texten muslimischer Autoren, der Islam in Indien bis zur Neuzeit, Kultur und Geschichte der Mamlukenzeit und die deutsche Orientalistik im Spannungsfeld kulturwissenschaftlicher Methodenvielfalt.
