Nicholas Kenyon war Musikkritiker (u.a. "New Yorker", "Times", "Observer") und Chef von BBC Radio 3, seit 1996 ist er Direktor der BBC Proms. Über Simon Rattle hat er erstmals 1987 veröffentlicht. Jetzt hat er seine Biografie erweitert und aktualisiert. Die vielen Gespräche, die er mit Rattle zu diesem Zweck geführt hat, kreisen vor allem um dessen herausragendes Talent, musikalisch zu kommunizieren.
