Gary Sytsma spent the remaining years of his career as a child and family therapist following his work as a hospital caregiver for 34 years. He is currently channeling his passion for helping people and animals into writing. His first book, The Lost Doggie Who Became a Princess, shares his experience with his adopted dog, Dot. He is also the author of a non-fiction title about respectful communication and improving parental skills and is currently writing a book about patient advocacy and the need for health care reform in our country. He lives in the Pacific Northwest with his beloved dogs, Dot and Dash.
