Consequently, fewbooks exist to guide the directors of collegelearning centers in setting up tutor trainingprograms that result in competent tutors and inpersonal, cognitive and ethical growth for thetutors. This book recounts the experiences of ninetutors enrolled in a Tutor Development course andexamines the changes in their thinking about tutoringand their tutoring behaviors, as well as theircognitive and ethical growth. Through case studies,the author delves into the tutors' experience toexplore what happened in their experience to impactgrowth. The lessons learned from the author's studyhave implications for professionals who train collegetutors in any discipline. In addition, the booksuggests a framework for designing tutor developmentclasses to promote tutors' growth.
