Sabina Berman Goldberg kam 1956 in Mexiko-Stadt zur Welt; sie ist die Tochter jüdischer Emigranten aus Osteuropa. Schon während ihres Studiums der Psychologie begann sie für das Theater zu schreiben. Seither hat sie zahlreiche Auszeichnungen für ihre Theaterstücke, Fernsehspiele, Gedichte und Prosatexte bekommen, unter anderem viermal den mexikanischen Nationalpreis für Theater. Die Frau, die ins Innere der Welt tauchte ist ihr zweiter Roman.
