Thermal analysis on some aminobenzoic acids derivates using DSC, TG-FTIR, Hot-stage Microscopy were done on individual derivatives and later same analysis when these derivatives are mixed using physical and kneading method. TG-FTIR, which is a technique coupling TGA and FTIR, was undertaken to check evolved gases in heating these compounds.The thermal behaviour in the solid state of various substituted aminobenzoic acids (3- aminobenzoic acid (3-ABA), 4-aminobenzoic acid (4-ABA), 3-aminosalicylic acid (3-ASA), 4- aminosalicylic acid (4-ASA), and 5-aminosalicylic acid (5-ASA), as well as the "parent" benzoic acid (BA) and salicylic acid (SA) as reference substances, and possible decomposition products: 2-aminophenol (2-AP), 3-aminophenol (3-AP) and 4-aminophenol (4-AP), has been examined.

Rotich, Moses KProf. Rotich is a chemistry lecturer who stared his career at Egerton University, Kenya, in 1994 after his Masters degree from University of Malawi in 1992. He joined Rhodes University, South Africa in 1999 for Doctor of Philosophy (PhD). He returned to Egerton University and now at Laikipia University, Kenya as Associate Professor of Chemistry.
