People's memories, feelings, experiences are shaped by spaces or borders. Thus, this case study aimed at deconstructing and decoding meaning (s) of space, specifically in the context of Varosha (as 'space') and Borders of Varosha (as 'border'). The newspaper articles about Varosha and the open-ended questions are used to show the inhabitants memories about Varosha before 1974. The main purpose of this study was to find what Varosha symbolizes for Turkish and Greek Cypriots. The main argument of the study is that Varosha is an example of analysis of how space is socially and psychologically constructed rather than simply through military conflict relations. The content and discourse analysis methods were used to analyse the participants' thoughts and their emotions about Varosha. The study population included people who lived or had an emotional relationship with Varosha. Structured Interviews were used as the study instrument. The interviews included 13 open-ended questions. Consequently, the content and the discourse results show that the participants do not consider the new status of Varsoha and the new inhabitants. They miss the old times of Varosha.
