In this biography, Herbert Mohr-Mayer, Managing Director of the company for many years, pays tribute to his grandfathers life work and traces the history of the House of Victor Mayer, an exemplary Pforzheim-based jewellery manufactory. Within this framework, as many references as possible are made to other jewellery factories founded in Pforzheim at the end of the 19th century, which in many ways reveal a comparable development and similar structures. Accordingly, the book sees itself as a contribution to Pforzheims industrial history.
