Since the 4th Generation Peer 2 Peer technology (4G P2P) resembles with broadcasting, some of the developed countries demanded international protection to the 4G P2P similar to the one, enjoyed by the traditional broadcasters since the technology seems to be same that of broadcasting. Thus 4G P2P was included in the ongoing discussion in WIPO on the traditional broadcasting issues. The SCCR proposed some set of rights to the webcasters. However most of the members opposed such inclusion and they demanded the separation of the new technology and its copyright protection from the present ongoing discussion on the traditional broadcasting issues. Due to this reason, the new technology and issues associated with it have been kept away from the present ongoing discussion. This works attempt to study the technology in order to understand the nature of the new technology and analyses that whether traditional broadcasters, rights can be extended to the webcasters?
