'A smart, intersectional feminist tour de force' Washington PostAviva Grossman, an ambitious intern working for a politician, makes the life-changing mistake of having an affair with him - the boss who is beloved, admired, successful and very married - and blogging about it. When the affair comes to light, Aviva is slut-shamed, labelled as fat and ugly, and considered a blight on politics in general.
She sees no way out but to change her name and move to a remote town in Maine. She starts over as Jane the wedding planner, tries to be smarter about her life and to raise her daughter to be strong and confident.
But when, at the urging of others, Jane decides to run for public office herself, that long-ago mistake trails her like a scarlet A. The past is never, ever, truly gone with everything you've done living on in the digital world for all eternity. And it's only a matter of time until Ruby finds out . . .
'This sly, exhilarating novel takes on slut-shaming . . . and manages to be hilarious in the process' People (Book of the Week)

Pressezitat
This clever, thoughtful, witty novel follows what happens after twentysomething Washington intern Aviva falls for the flaky charms of congressman Aaron...The tale is told, brilliantly, in many voices, including Aviva's sharp Jewish mother and the congressman's unexpectedly funny wife. Significantly, there are no male narrators. This is a woman's story Wendy Holden, Daily Mail
