Autoren-Porträt von Robin Whatley
Robin Whatley was born in Whitwood, a mining village between Castleford and Normanton, West Yorkshire. When he was three, his family moved to live on the Airedale Council Estate, Castleford; conjoined with Ferry Fryston, this was one of the largest council estates in the north of England.He received a secondary education, attending Airedale Secondary Modern School and Whitwood Technical College.
He is a qualified welder, first working in garages in Pontefract and Glass Houghton as a panel beater/welder, and later working as a plater/welder in Wakefield.
He joined the West Yorkshire Police in the spring of 1973 and retired following a car accident twenty-two years later.
Married with two children and two grandchildren, Robin Whatley is now retired and living on the Algarve in Portugal.
