Henrik Ibsen (1828-1906) was a Norwegian-Danish playwright and theatre director. He was one of the founders of modernism in theatre and is regarded as "the father of realism".He influenced many giants of the playwright world, including George Bernard Shaw, Oscar Wilde, and George Bernard Shaw. His work has endured: only William Shakespeare's plays are performed more often than Ibsen's. His best-known works include 'Peer Gynt', 'A Doll's House', 'An Enemy of the People', and 'The Wild Duck'.Ibsen was nominated for the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1902, 1903, and 1904.
