Produktinformationen zu „A Guide through the District of the Lakes in the North of England (PDF)“
Most tourists get a lopsided view of England. They go to London just to ride in a double-decker bus and see the changing of the guards at Buckingham Palace and think of northern England as the home of the Beatles. A Guide through the Districts of the Lakes in the North of England, published in the 1830s, keeps the vacationer in mind and is so beautifully written that even natives will take a closer look at their empire.Poet William Wordsworth carefully chooses his words to paint an exquisite portrait of northern England’s District of the Lakes. The mist lofting down from the mountains tickling the green pastures seems magical as Wordsworth shares his feelings on this great expanse of natural beauty. When you’re reading his prose, it’s almost as if you’re staring into one of the serene mirrored lakes without a care in the world.
