He Yingqin was a military chief whose status only second to Chiang Kai-shek under Kuomintang rule. He had participated in the 1911 Revolution, the May 4th Movement and the national revolution of first cooperation of Kuomintang and Communist Party. He was appointed as chief instructor of Whampoa Military Academy by Sun Yat-sen. He followed Chiang Kai-shek in the anti-Communist campaign and therefore got rapid advances in his career. After going to Taiwan, he opposed to the plot of "e;Taiwan Independence"e;, "e;Two China"e; and "e;One China, One Taiwan"e;. He is an important figure in the history of the Republic of China.
