"Mois (Moshe) Benarroch (born on 7 October 1959 in Tétouan, Morocco) he is an Israeli writer, translator and poet. Benarroch immigrated to Israel in 1972. Previously engaged in natural medicine and accounting, and currently he almost entirely engaged in writing and translating. He published three novels, four poetry books and two storybooks. He Participated in many poetry festivals in Israel and the world and was very active when it comes to literature on the Internet and new technologies related to the publication of books. Benarroch also writes in Spanish (which is his mother tongue) and in English, and also published books in these languages. His poems and his works of art have been translated over the years into the following languages: Spanish, English, French, Gelgo, Urdu, Chinese and Portuguese. The prestigious publishing (DESTINO) in Spain publish in 2008 his novel "At the gates of Tangier". He also translate into Hebrew poems of Charles Bukowski, Pablo Neruda, Claude Vigée, Tahar Ben Jelloun, Emanuel Ido, Rochelle Mass, Theresa Forsknski and more, and prose by Miguel Delibes, Edmond Jabès, Nahid Rachlin, Daniel Radford, Kathleen Tessaro, Almudena Grandes, pablo simonetti and Lya Luft. The books of Mois Benarroch deals, among other things, with the relation between the Moroccan diaspora and Israel and The Judaism. They are creating a composite image of the relations between Jews and Muslims and Christians, tense and rich relations, over a thousand years. And also describe the life of the Sephardic Jews. Benarroch has its own criticism to the establishment of Israel in general and the literary establishment in particular. Benarroch claimed that this establishment is controlled by an Ashkenazi elite, that preventing publication of works of art written by Sephardic writers and thereby it contribute to the literary oppression of this group.
