A former hospital pharmacist delves into the world of psychological horror in this intense thriller.

I first had the idea for this novel after seeing the cover of a pharmacy magazine which depicted a man with schizophrenia, half his face in shadow the other half in light. His sick side and healthy side were evenly balanced. The thought that somehow a man could be tricked into a life of violence if his evil side took over control haunted me.

For most people it is a horrible disease which can be treated with medication and therapy. But what if this time it is not due to an illness? What if it is the expression of the man's hidden evil side, previously under control by his good side?

I wondered how this might actually happen but I had an idea. The man could be gradually led by the power of suggestion along with taking a peculiar unknown drug that caused him to weaken his control over himself. What at first he believes to be innocent experimentation with only minor evil acts, gradually becomes worse and leads to his downfall.

The novel is a bit more violent and supernatural than I'm usually used to but I just had to get the idea out of my mind. It was an enjoyable relief for me to be done with it.
