Suzanne Nelson grew up north of San Francisco. A Stanford grad and varsity runner, she heads to New York City for law school. She is gay, but has come out to no one. There, she meets Kerry Neally, a New Yorker and fellow first-year student. Kerry is straight. As far as she knows. Beginning with a study group, the two become increasingly close. And then it all blows up when Suzanne comes out to her friend.
This is the story of their relationship and that of Kerry's widowed mother, Eileen, and of Kate and William Nelson, who disown their own daughter as they had Suzanne's Aunt Mary, who proves an anchor for Suzanne in New York.
But life is complicated and eventually romances flow and huge changes take place among the characters, all the way to the first days of the coronavirus. This story is about how the members of what becomes a large New York family deal with themselves, each other, and love. With lots of weddings. A Romance.
