His father's bankruptcy and suicide, however, made the family financial situation hit the bottom, and gave Kruul a heavy blow. He began to give up on himself and became cynical, fooling around respectively in Frankfurt, Paris, Lisbon and other big cities, completely enjoying the colorful life of the world. He also learned to play around the prostitutes, while at the same time, with sweet words, he swindled jewelries from the wealthy married women, and the love and bodies of the rich young ladies; he not only abandoned himself to vice, but also cheated and entrapped others; deceiving and stealing, he did all kinds of wrong deeds, but eventually he got caught and ended up in a jail with all his reputation ruined.
