Autoren-Porträt von Heather Alsobrook
Before I tell you about myself, I want to take a moment to thank my Mom, Nancy Anderson! She taught me to do so much when I was young. She gave me the love of cooking, sailing and sewing! As soon as I was old enough to hold a spoon, she had me in the kitchen. I made my first 'by myself' monkey bread at 5 years old, while she was still sleeping. Thank you Mom for all that you have taught me. I love you with all my heart! To my Mom and Karl, you showed me what “True Love” looks like and for that I will always be grateful!Mother of two, Michael and Felicia, grandmother of two, Amy and Benjamin. Married to my Perfect Partner Syd, best friend and confidant. He has supported me through all the cooking trials and tribulations over the past decade! We live aboard our only home: S/V Perfect Partner. She is a 1982, Spindrift 43 Pilothouse. Cooking food that tastes good is what I'm passionate about and I love to feed people.I have lived on a boat for two years. Most of my cooking was done on land for my family and our friends. I love to cook and be creative with cooking. I didn't want to sacrifice what I cooked because I was living on a boat, so I brought my most important kitchen gadgets with me and have learned to use them on the boat. I have a Kitchen Aid mixer (doesn't use nearly as much power as you might think, although it does need a big place for storage, we are lucky and have a perfect spot. A good food processor, I like to make my own hummus and olive tapenade, also used for making biscuits! My cast iron skillets, I love cooking with these and they are great on the boat. I use them almost every day. My Pampered Chef clay baking pans, the 9x13 is for pot lucks and sharing lasagna, enchilada's and such. The bread pans are used when it's cold outside and we need to help keep the boat warm, the cookie sheets are preheated for cooking “make your own pizza” night! Oh, and let's not forget the coffee grinder (nothing like fresh ground beans for our french press in the

morning). We have the Cuisinart that you load beans into, it is hidden in a little cabinet on the boat, cute and convenient. I've always been a good cook and really enjoy feeding our family and friends. I have made many dishes for potlucks, and have had countless people over and shared with them some of my delicious recipes. spare ribs, shrimp and scallop fra diavolo, lasagna, bread pudding spicy marinara, fish, chili, clam chowder, quiche, Swedish christmas bread (jules cake), Swedish rye bread, banana bread, zucchini bread, you name it and I can cook it on my boat, jumbo chocolate chip cookies, brownies, apple crisp, chocolate cream pie...This is my first cookbook, please feel free to send me an email with any errors or omissions or comment on what other type of cook books you'd like to see from me. I love to be creative with cooking and put new recipe's together. More recipe books are coming!
