Describing these animals as the author does is meant to stimulate in just that way. He does not guarantee any scientific accuracy but hopes to make it enjoyable for children. The illustrations are done in such a way that they may be used not only for identification but allow the youngsters to use their imagination by using the illustrations as a coloring book.

The author was saddened by the death of his beloved wife of 59 years, she had been his critic and inspiration in his writing and publishing of six books.They met at a church beach party, when he returned from four and 1/2 years service, in the Pacific, where he received two commendations and a purple heart.
One bright spot in his life has been his little dog Silver. Silver is a pure white Schnauzer that doesnt know he is a dog. It was he that inspired the making of this book.
