Autoren-Porträt von R. Stone Penwell
About the AuthorR. Stone Penwell is both an artist and an author who loves to write short fiction, epic fantasy fiction, and science-fiction designed to entertain and amuse the reader. He was the editor-in-chief of a very successful online e zine that ran from 1996 to 2000 dedicated to the free online publishing of fine literary works of fiction and poetry by both known authors and promising new authors.
In the realm of artwork Mr. Penwell's works are not numerous and consist largely of maps and scenic background illustration. He prefers to work in pen and ink or pencil, but also does extensive graphics work (mainly maps) on the computer using either Paint Shop Pro or Adobe Photoshop.
R. Stone Penwell has a number of published short stories and novelettes in e book formats currently available from online publishers. These are divided primarily into three categories that he calls The Dreamweaver's Tales (swords and sorcery, fantasy, and adventure); the episodic adventures of Sir Nervous Nork the Nervous Knight (fantasy-adventure and light humor set in a fictional medieval world); and The Memory Epsilon Records (science-fiction stories set in the distant future).
R. Stone Penwell is also the co-author of the four-volume epic fantasy series The Chronicles of the Last Elder Lord (also available in ebook formats) on which he worked long and closely with Merilyn F. George and knew as both friend and mentor. The Chronicles of the Last Elder Lord was Mr. Penwell's debut as both a published co-author and as a published artist.
Mr. Penwell lives in the southwestern United States, has honorably served his country in the military, and has traveled to and through much of western Europe. He lived four years in southern Germany in the great and historically rich city of Augsburg where he fell in love with both the people of the city and the country of Germany and one day hopes to return.
