Autoren-Porträt von James A Child
The author lives in North Devon having retired there in 2007, because he has had a 40 years love affair with the South West UK. I took up writing on retirement, and for the first time in my life I was working on something that I really wanted to do. In my previous working life, I did what I had to do for survival.
I was an engineer in the North West UK, and spent many happy holidays in the SW UK.
I have written some ten books over a nine year period; two of the books are historical novels and the
remaining seven are all about love and the spirit. I like to dream up what life would have been like for
famous people in the past and this novel was inspired by a chap with the surname of Orchard. He volunteered the fact, that his family went way back in Devon. I then read on the internet that the Orchards owned Hartland Abbey. I researched the Abbey History and discovered the Francis Drake
connection and the rest is down to my vivid imagination involving buried treasure in Hartland and the Caribbean. Enjoy the Read.
