Hooberman believes that conflict can best be understood through a thorough process of psychological formulation culminating in a picture of the individual's character structure. Using numerous case examples, Hooberman explains therapeutic techniques that assist patients in finding new solutions for conflicts that were previously felt to have been intractable.
