Produktinformationen zu „Foundational Christianity (ePub)“
It is the end of the First Century. Or is it today? Christianity's spread has slowed, dragged down by persecution and heresy. True believers are looking for guidance, for restoration, but to whom can they turn? Prayers and eyes turn toward the only surviving apostle, John. Knowing of the desperate need for the flocks, the aging disciple pens a series of letters to encourage faith and correct errors. An exposition of the First Epistle of John, Foundational Christianity introduces the essentials of Christianity for new believers and refreshes the concepts for those who want to renew their faith. It is designed for use by adults interested in serious study either as an individual or as the core for a group Bible study. The material is meant to be a bridge between denominational curriculum and introductory seminary textbooks. Each chapter concentrates on short portions of scripture to permit thorough study of the material accommodating the 21st Century's demands on time and commitment. The purposely non-academic and non-intimidating style puts the average reader at ease and opens up the important message of First John.
Autoren-Porträt von Bill Andrew
Bill Andrew was born in Atlanta, Georgia. His earliest ambition was to be a radio announcer and he attended the University of Georgia, receiving an MA degree in Journalism, with a specialty in Broadcasting, minoring in American history and political science. His goal was to be a political reporter and commentator. He married, and went to work with his father in the motion picture theater business. In 1972 he became the manager of the recorded products division of a publishing house dedicated to motivational and inspirational topics. He returned to the family business only to leave in 1978 for the publishing house of a major denomination, then headquartered in Atlanta. Bill was the Advertising and Direct Mail Manager, writing promotional copy for new books.
The church relocated its headquarters to Kentucky, and Bill worked as Public Relations and Information Program Coordinator for an agency of Georgia's state government. He left that post to freelance as a public relations consultant, then stepped into commercial insurance as a property and casualty broker, working with several agencies.
But his real love was journalism. He retired in 2008. His exposure to biblical studies at the Presbyterian's publishing house inspired him to begin his pursuit of writing and biblical study in more depth.
Bill lives in Roswell, Georgia, with his wife of 41 years Sandy. They have been members in the past of Methodist congregations, a Southern Baptist church and a Church of God in Atlanta. They toured Israel as part of a group in 2000. Their son and daughter-in-law have one daughter and one son.
