This book consists of 67 pages of poetry, totaling approximately twelve thousand, five hundred words. As an added bonus, the Poet’s Photo has been included on the last page.
This is a collection of humorous and intellectual poetry. Many of these poems will require deep thought, and may not be suitable for the mentally and spiritually weak. Of these poems are the result of knowledge, and others are purely fictional, and include several nightmares that the writer has had. The closing poem is a tribute to William Wordsworth, the mentor of most poets. Here is an example of the ‘young and cheek’ that you will read:
Every postman does an apprenticeship.
The apprenticeship consists of
Ten extremely severe courses.
One course stretches over a period of a year.
The first course is about fitness.
At the end of one whole year’s walking
And marching,
The postman is considered
Fit for a first year graduation,
Provided he passes a speed walking exam.
A second year student learns to run.
Each run is lengthened in distance,
But shortened in given time.
The purpose of this course is to develop
The postman’s ability to outrun a dog, or dogs.
Once again a graduation is only awarded if
An exam is passed.
This exam requires the postman to outrun
A wolf.
This is evidently an easy task,
Because this test has never been failed.
The third course is the speed course.
During this course the postman learns to outrun vehicles…
The final poem pays tribute to the poet's mentor, William Wordsworth.
