drugs, pesticides, lipids, and food additives. Charles G. Smith is a Research Associate with the Polymeric Materials Research Center within the Analytical Sciences Laboratory of Dow Chemical USA. He received his B.S. degree from Allegheny College and M.S. in Chemistry from the University of Michigan. Following graduation he worked three years with the Chemical Division of PPG Industries before joining Dow in 1967. After four years of method development for organic and agricultural products, he transferred to his current assignment. His expertise has been concentrated on chromatographic separations and their application to the analysis of polymeric systems. The last thirteen years have been devoted to developing and applying pyrolysis techniques for polymer characterization. He is the author or co-author of fourteen publications and currently serves as Chairman of ASTM D20.70 Subcommittee on Analytical Methods for Plastics. Walter C. Buzanowski is a Research Leader in the Polymeric Materials Research Center of the Analytical Sciences Laboratories of Dow Chemical USA. He received his B.S. degree (1972) and his M.S. in Analytical Chemistry (1975) from Fordham University. Upon graduation, he joined a subsidiary of Dow, Hydroscience Inc., as an analytical environmental chemist. In 1980, he transferred to the Michigan Division of Dow, working for two years in the special analysis group of Analytical Sciences developing methods and techniques for the collection and analysis of air samples. He joined the polymer group in 1982. His chief areas of interest in this group have been in capillary gas chromatography, gas chromatography/mass spectrometry, the determination of additives in polymer systems, and studying their relationship to polymer stabilization and performance. He is the co-author of three publications on the analysis of polymers and polymer residuals by gas chromatography. Jeffrey D. Graham is a Team Leader with the Polymeric Materials Research Center within the Analytical Sciences Laboratory of Dow Chemical USA. He received his bachelor's degree in Chemistry from Albion College in 1973 and joined Dow after graduation. During his nineteen years in the Analytical Sciences Laboratory of Dow, he has contributed to the area of separation science primarily in liquid chromatography. For the last eleven years these efforts have been focused on the characterization of polymer systems with a strong emphasis on additives and stabilizers. He is the author or co-author of six publications. Ziad Iskandarani is a Project Leader with Marion Merrill Dow. He received his B.S. degree in Chemistry from the American University of Beirut, his M.S. degree in Polymer Science from the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology, and his Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry from the University of Iowa. After a one year Postdoctoral at the University of Iowa, he joined Dow in 1983. Following one year on the Research Assignment Program, he transferred to the Polymeric Materials Research Center of the Analytical Sciences Laboratory for Dow Chemical USA. His expertise has been fully devoted to liquid chromatography and its application to the analysis of polymeric systems. He is the author or co-author of eight publications and two U.S. patents.
