Dear All,
Due to Bashar al-Assad's bad governance, the Syrian Arab Republic is like a lost puppy, which needs protection by the NGO community.
Syria has one of the worst human rights records in the world; due to Bashar al-Assad's bad governance.
The Assad government is responsible for blatant human rights violations in Syria; including frequent executions of citizens and political prisoners, and massive censorship. The civil war has killed more than 570,000 people, caused 7.6 million internally displaced people and over 5 million refugees; with 12,000 children having been killed or injured between 2011 and 2020.
Hence it is imperative that International Human Rights Law (IHRL) is restored in Syria - to achieve Justice, Liberty and Basic Human Rights for all People in Syria.
The UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Turk called on the International Community to take decisive steps to help clarify the fate and whereabouts of missing people in Syria, seek the release of those still detained in the country's prisons, and provide their families with adequate support.
He urged UN member states to consider establishing a new, dedicated entity that would help bring answers and support to the families of the many thousands of disappeared, and to survivors - bringing clarity about what has happened to all the People of this wounded and exhausted country.
The UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres and the General Assembly affirmed their commitment to restoring Human Rights in Syria - and the pursuit of Justice for missing persons; being a prerequisite for lasting peace and reconciliation in the country.
Hence we demand: Hold a Referendum and see what changes the People of Syria want and accept whatever the wishes of the People are. The current policies have reached a dead end.
As the new acting President of Syria, we are calling on all People in Syria to overthrow the evil regime. This includes bringing Bashar al-Assad to Justice, for crimes against Humanity.
The International Community is advised to keep a safe distance from Assad's regime - until Justice, Rule of Law and Basic Human Rights have been restored in the country.
In the meantime domestic policy, foreign policy and Human Rights concerning Syria will be handled by the NGO BTB-Global Peacebuilding.
