Dear All,
At least 580 people have been killed in the capital, Khartoum, and more than 3 million Sudanese have been displaced, throwing Sudan into one of the world's worst humanitarian crises.
The horrific and senseless civil war broke out in Sudan on April 15, when Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo and Abdel Fattah al-Burhan started bickering, amid a failed transition to civilian rule - both being responsible for the humanitarian crises in Sudan.
The UN, Egypt and Saudi Arabia have all failed to restore Peace.
Despite both sides agreeing to protect civilians to allow for the delivery of humanitarian supplies, the killing of civilians and airstrikes have continued across Khartoum and West Darfur.
There are also increasing reports of innocent girls being raped by armed men in Sudan.
It should be noted, that the commander of the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), Gen. Hemedti stands accused of previously using rape as a weapon of war, in the two-decade-long conflict in Darfur.
The RSF ¿¿¿¿ ¿¿¿¿¿ ¿¿¿¿¿¿ - under Gen. Hemedti ¿¿¿¿¿¿ - also carried out more than 70 rapes when it attacked a peaceful demonstration in June 2019.
Hence it is imperative that war criminals in the RSF and the Sudanese army are brought to Justice; by the International Criminal Court (ICC).
This includes bringing Mr Hemedti and Abdel Fattah al-Burhan to Justice - for the killing of civilians.
It is imperative that Rule of Law is restored in Sudan - with the assistance of the UN, the General Intelligence Service (GIS) and General Intelligence Presidency (GIP) ¿¿¿¿¿ ¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿ ¿¿¿¿¿¿.
The civil war between Hemedti and Abdel Fattah al-Burhan has forced over 450,000 children to flee their homes; according to UNICEF.
Hence the civil war must end; to stop the suffering, forced displacement and rape of Children.
We are calling for an immediate ceasefire and a return to Peace Talks; to put Sudan back on track to a civilian-led government.
In view of the severity of overlapping crises, the NGO BTB-GLOBAL PEACEBUILDING will he handling matters temporarily in Sudan - until stability and social cohesion has been restored in Sudan.
This includes restoring Rule of Law and Human Rights in Sudan - with the assistance of the International Community - so that the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) can be manifested in Sudan. ¿¿¿¿ ¿¿¿¿¿ ¿¿
